To extend the life of your precious new purchase, we have a few tips and tricks! Our jewelry is primarily made of brass or plated materials - and their care is different:


Solid brass that is unplated will naturally darken/patina over time. If you want to bring it back to its shiniest self, you can polish it with a silver cloth or polishing pad. Don't put any chemicals on it or use any liquid dip cleaners (like those used for sterling silver).

Plated metals (such as 24k gold plating or silver rhodium plating) are amazing and need almost zero care to keep them shiny - just like a very forgiving houseplant. Just wipe with an untreated cloth and you're good to go.

To keep your jewelry in tip-top shape, avoid things like wearing it while skinny dipping in the lake, rubbing it down with lotion or sweating all over it at the gym. If you do one or all of these things, see tips above for how to deal.

In general, don’t throw it at the bottom of your purse or toss it on a hard floor or countertop. Always store in a cool, dry place and take it on the go safely in a jewelry bag or travel case. Treat it like it’s special and loved, and it will love you back for a long time to come

PICK UP IN-STORE:

If you would like to pick up your order at our brick and mortar location in Bemidji, MN, you may select the "In-Store Pickup" delivery option in checkout (instead of entering a shipping option and address). If you select this option you will not be charged for shipping. Your order will be ready for pickup when you receive a confirmation pickup email (usually within 24 hours). Most orders will be available next day if placed by noon on Monday - Thursday. Orders placed after Noon on Friday will be available the following Monday by Noon. Please wait for your pickup confirmation email.

Most orders will ship out within 48 hours. Your order will be shipped first class or priority shipping with USPS which usually takes 2-3 business days, depending on your location.

    RETURNS AND EXCHANGES:

    If your purchase does not work out for you, we are happy to exchange or refund you for most items.  However, due to the nature of a small online business, there are some return guidelines and restrictions.

    Because of the limited quantities per style and size, we can not guarantee we will have any specific items available for exchange. Our inventory moves quickly, but we will do whatever we can to exchange size or restock an item you simply can’t live without!  

    Return/Exchange Policy:  We will exchange or refund original payment methods within 30 days on all orders.  After 30 days you can exchange (if item is available) or get store credit for the amount of the purchase.  After 60 days your order will be handled on a case by case basis by our Customer Service.  Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs with standard returns and exchanges.  We will cover all shipping costs to send exchanges back to you!   If you receive a defective, damaged or incorrect item, contact us and we will cover return shipping and replace the item promptly.

    We reserve the right to deny full or partial refunds for items sent back that do not meet the following standards. 

    ALL RETURNS AND EXCHANGES MUST BE RETURNED ACCORDING TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
    • Email us at yellowumbrellashop@gmail.com to request a return authorization. Please include: NAME, ORDER NUMBER, ITEM(S) BEING RETURNED, and REASON FOR RETURN.
    • All clothing and shoes must be returned unsoiled (no makeup residue), undamaged, unworn and original tags still attached. Shoes must be returned in their original box. We simply cannot honor any refunds if these standards are not met. 
    • All returns must be received by our returns department within 30 days of your purchase.
    • All ACCESSORIES,  JEWELRY,  and "CLEARANCE" items are FINAL SALE and cannot be returned.
    • Shipping fees are not refunded. Customer is responsible for all return shipping fees. 
    • We reserve the right to deny full or partial refunds for items sent back that do not meet these standards.
    • All refunds will be processed 7-10 days after receiving and inspecting return.
